Jon is one of the busiest working pro's in the Baltimore/D.C. area. You may recognize his name as he is the author of The Rising Card Book, ITR Professional Routines, Art Of Close-Up Levitation, Monte Too and more... Jon and I will be working together to bring to you "Real World Product Reviews". Reviews from the real world based on real experience. New reviews will be posted on our site every Wednesday. We are sure you will benefit from Jon's experience. Howard Katz A few words from Jon Hi, my name is Jon Jensen. I have been a professional magician on and off for the last 25 years. I currently do about 250 kid's shows a year as well as performing bar magic four nights a week. At the bar I try to do one new trick every week for the regulars, and as you may have guessed, some of the tricks are winners, while others not so much. I am a big fan of magic review shows, most notably the two (now interchangeable) guys in England, as well as Jamie Grant's now defunct Magic Fridays. I also enjoy David Regal`s reviews on Reel Magic. I don`t always agree with the reviews, but for the most part they are educational and entertaining. Talking with some of my magic buddies over the last couple of months I have mentioned that there should be a magic review forum for professional magicians on products that have been tested in front of real spectators, not a couple of times, but at least a hundred times. I feel it is hard to accurately review a product after only opening up the package a half hour earlier. In the next couple of months I, with the help of Howard at The Magic Warehouse, will be putting out a weekly review on magic products I have tested in the real world. We encourage feedback and ideas which can be sent to Jon Jensen |
